L'exposition en ligne \"Members' Best 2022\"<\/em> repr\u00e9sente l'aboutissement d'une longue \u00e9volution dans la pr\u00e9sentation des \u0153uvres des membres de l'AIC au cours des 70 derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es. \u00c0 l'origine, lorsque les membres \u00e9taient beaucoup moins nombreux, il \u00e9tait plus facile d'organiser des expositions internationales d'\u0153uvres en c\u00e9ramique, et les premi\u00e8res expositions de l'AIC ont \u00e9t\u00e9 des pionni\u00e8res dans la pr\u00e9sentation de la diversit\u00e9 des cultures c\u00e9ramiques (la \"World Cultural Exchange\" de 1960, par exemple, a r\u00e9uni des \u0153uvres de 23 nations). Au fur et \u00e0 mesure que l'organisation s'est d\u00e9velopp\u00e9e, les expositions se sont multipli\u00e9es, mais aussi la complexit\u00e9 des d\u00e9fis organisationnels. Au d\u00e9but des ann\u00e9es 2000, alors que le nombre de membres avait \u00e9norm\u00e9ment augment\u00e9, des membres du monde entier apportaient avec eux de petites \u0153uvres \u00e0 exposer lors du congr\u00e8s biennal.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n

Aujourd'hui, apr\u00e8s le premier congr\u00e8s enti\u00e8rement virtuel de 2021, l'AIC a d\u00e9cid\u00e9 d'exp\u00e9rimenter avec un format d'exposition en ligne. Ce format pr\u00e9sente de nombreux avantages: il est ouvert aux membres qui ne peuvent pas se rendre physiquement \u00e0 Gen\u00e8ve, il peut \u00eatre vu par des personnes du monde entier et il offre aux artistes c\u00e9ramistes de toutes sortes, de ceux qui fabriquent de petits r\u00e9cipients \u00e0 ceux qui cr\u00e9ent des installations gigantesques, une chance \u00e9gale de partager leur travail.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n<\/td>\r\n

Les premiers promoteurs de l'AIC n'ont jamais \u00e9t\u00e9 int\u00e9ress\u00e9s par la simple promotion du travail de leurs membres individuels, mais par la construction de ponts entre les cultures par le biais du m\u00e9dium universel qu'est l'argile. Bien avant le r\u00e9seau de l'Internet, l'AIC a cherch\u00e9 \u00e0 d\u00e9velopper un r\u00e9seau d'artistes, non pas dans un but d'auto-grandissement, mais dans un but de rapprochement culturel. Rare dans le monde de l'art professionnel, cette tradition se poursuit aujourd'hui dans l'exposition Members' Best, et b\u00e9n\u00e9ficie \u00e9norm\u00e9ment du nouveau format en ligne.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n

The Age of Influence: North American Artist Members Exhibition<\/em> c\u00e9l\u00e8bre son 50\u00e8me Congr\u00e8s, les 70 ans de l'Acad\u00e9mie internationale de c\u00e9ramique depuis 1952. Elle inclut les \u00c9tats-Unis, le Canada, Porto Rico et la Jama\u00efque, refl\u00e9tant la mesure et l'influence critiques de l'AIC compte tenu de l'extraordinaire production professionnelle de ses membres. IAC Members' Best Exhibition<\/h3>\r\n<\/td>\r\n

The Members\u2019 Best 2022 Online Exhibition<\/em> represents the culmination of a long evolution of showing IAC member works over the last 70 years. Originally, when the membership was much smaller, international exhibitions of ceramic works could be more easily organised, and early IAC shows pioneered the display of diversity in ceramic cultures (1960\u2019s \u201cWorld Cultural Exchange,\u201d for example, brought together work from 23 nations). As the organisation grew, so did the exhibitions, but also the complexity of the organisational challenges. By the early 2000\u2019s, with a membership that had grown enormously, members from all over the world were bringing with them small works to be displayed during the biennial congress.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n

Today, after the first entirely virtual congress of 2021, the IAC has decided to experiment with an online exhibition format. This format has numerous advantages: it is open to members who are unable to physically travel to Geneva, it can be viewed by people all over the world, and offers ceramic artists of all kinds, from those who make small vessels to those who create mammoth installations, an equal opportunity to share their work.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n<\/td>\r\n

\r\n

The early developers of the IAC were never interested in simply promoting the work of individual members, but in building bridges between cultures through the universal medium of clay. Long before the network of the Internet, the IAC sought to develop a network of artists, not for the goal of self-aggrandisement, but for the goal of cultural understanding. Rare in the professional art world, this tradition continues today in the Members\u2019 Best exhibition, and benefits enormously from the new online format.<\/p>\r\n

The Age of Influence:\u00a0North American Artist Members Exhibition<\/em> is celebrating its 50th Congress, 70 years of International Academy of Ceramics since 1952. It includes the USA, Canada, Puerto Rico, and Jamaica\u00a0reflecting the critical measure and influence of the IAC given the extraordinary professional output of its members. It\u00a0provides an expanded connection, a critical vision and an archive of North American achievements within the International Academy of Ceramics at this remarkable time.\u00a0 We commemorate and memorialize our shared ceramic histories and artistic cultural continuity of the IAC, especially since our history has inspired resilience and celebration.\u00a0 Also, we attest to artistic movement and change and other forms of explorations that have lingering legacies and take new forms which have elevated our motivation and vision as a body.<\/p>\r\n<\/td>\r\n

\r\n

The IAC 50th\u00a0North American Artist Members Exhibition, \u201cThe Age of Influence,\u201d is the first of its kind online visual and technological exhibition.\u00a0 It combines contemporary hybrid technology with virtual display to enrich the aesthetic experience and is equally rewarding in reality for\u00a0future presentations.<\/p>\r\n
